After several surprisingly pleasant smooth transactions when dealing with condominium projects and the purchase of new homes, I decided that I must have a link* on my site to acknowledge these builders. So here they are:
Birchwood Properties and Jay Tighe
After scouring the Southwest/Westside communities for a condominium that would satisfy my client's requirements for quality and location, we were delighted to find Access Cougar Ridge, built by Birchwood Properties. This was a newly built condominium and my client and I were impressed with the quality of finishings, the great floorplan and spaciousness. As a new build, there were some minor touchups required and we were put in touch with Jay. Within days Jay had contacted us with his direct cell number and his desire to get into the condominium as soon as possible to finish up the condo to perfect move in condition. Several emails and phone numbers ensued and everything was done on time for my client to move in and was done with excellence. After moving in, my client was also given the opportunity to do a "walk through" inspection, even though she was already satisfied with all of the work that had been done and the "home warranty" program was already past it's expiry date. Jay took the time to explain how the heating system worked and offered suggestions for lower her monthly gas bill! I now have a new client who is looking for a similar home for herself and my finger's are crossed that we can find a townhouse for her in the same project! Thanks Birchwood!
Duster Construction Limited - Jim Bender
I had the pleasure of meeting Jim just this year when listing a client's home for sale. Once my client had vacated the property, there were some cosmetic touchups/repairs that needed to be done. I learned from my client that from the very day he viewed the property for sale, the home builder had not only facilitated his purchase of the home but his maintenance throughout his time living there. Any question or issue was looked after by Jim as if the home were his own. Meticulous work in paint touchups was done for us and the home was left looking brand new and ready to sell again! I have also been impressed by the quality of tile work throughout, gorgeous walnut hardwood and the fantastic floor plan that Jim designed. Two powder rooms on the main floor service guests at the front and the kids at the garage entrance. The master ensuite was beautifully separated into a retreat on it's own above the garage. The two children's rooms had a jack and jill bathroom that was "master ensuite" caliber. The fourth bedroom upstairs also has it's own ensuite. And, yes, a spacious laundry room and family room can be found upstairs as well. The main floor has an outstanding open plan as well, I know that the next homeowner will love this house. This is a well thought out, meticulously built and luxuriously finished home. Jim Bender gets my thumbs up as a luxury home builder.
Centron/Homburg - The Castello - Jack Sides
As the owner of a brand new condominium in the Castello, I was very impressed both with the detailing in the finishings and the layout of these condos. Imagine a builder realizing that a massive outdoor deck would allow a homeowner greater entertainment and leisure space outside the walls of his condominium. This is very progressive thinking in a city where most of the decks I've seen can barely accommodate a barbecue and a chair! Jack Sides looked after us in every way possible. He helped us during the furniture moving process and was quick to assist when we required some condominium paperwork on short notice. Jack is proud to be one of the new, full service condominium management firms that are starting to appear in Calgary and I hope we see more of these. You can't beat personalized, custom service, especially when most condo management firms overcharge for condo documents and don't return your calls for days. Thanks, Jack!
